Who We Are

Lucky's Feral Cat TNR (aka "Lucky's") is a small all volunteer 501(c)(3) non profit animal welfare organization located in Crystal, Michigan.  Our mission and purpose is to help eliminate the cat overpopulation problem and prevent kitten cruelty in Montcalm County, Michigan through the humane trap, spay/neuter, vaccinate, and return (TNR) of community (otherwise called "feral" or "stray") cats.

We are a group of individuals who have full time jobs, that volunteer our free time to tackle the cat overpopulation problem in our County. All of us have years of experience saving cats, but the idea for Lucky's was born in 2020 while attempting to save a little 2 week old feral kitten named "Lucky" (He's the cover pic on our home page).  We were not successful in saving his life, but we gave him our love and all the replacement milk he wanted.  Over the course of the next 2 years, we encountered 24 more feral kittens (just in our neighborhood alone) and we learned a lot about how to care for "unweaned kittens".  We got really good at it. Until Luna.  Luna came to us in the Summer of 2022 as a little 4 week old feral kitten (she is the little gray baby in the pic above). After two weeks, two vet visits, and a bunch of medicine, she succumbed to an upper respiratory infection and severe anemia from flea infestation. Like Lucky, she was the sweetest little angel and we tried so very hard to save her.  The last one we attempted to save was Ginger and she too had an upper respiratory infection. None of these babies deserved the trials and tribulations of their short lives.  That was the last straw.  We took our initial idea in 2020 and started to take action.  Now it is our mission and purpose to help save these babies, one spay/neuter at a time.
