Volunteers are the heart and soul of what makes Lucky's successful. If you are interested in making a difference, come join our team. Whether you are a senior in high school needing community service hours, a college student, retired, work full time, or just want to help, we have a spot for you! Due to the nature of the work we do, all volunteers need to be age 18 or older.
We are in need of the following volunteer positions:
- Trappers - Availability: trapping can be done on the following days: Sunday through Thursday, usually 6pm or later. Duties include: communicating with the client about what to expect prior to, during, and after trapping; setting traps; picking up cats in traps, transporting cats in traps to Lucky's and then back to the trap site for release after surgery recovery.
- Clinic Transporters - must be over 25. Availability: Monday through Friday during the morning for drop off and pick up is either late afternoon same day or in the morning the following day. Duties include: loading and unloading vehicle with cats in the traps, transporting to and from spay/neuter clinic, and checking cats in and out of the clinic.
- Feral Cat Brigade Caregivers - Availability: Need help any day of the week when we have cats recovering from surgery between 7am-9am and 6pm-8pm. Duties include: feeding/watering feral cats after surgery and until they are released after 24-48 hours, and cleaning/disinfecting used traps and any other soiled surfaces.
- Fundraising - Availability: As needed. Duties include: helping us to get the word out, working at volunteer events, etc.
- AS NEEDED - Unweaned Kitten (0-8 weeks) Caregivers - Availability: Need help any day of the week when we have orphaned kittens. Duties include: caring for kittens under 8 weeks - bottle feeding every 3-4 hours, med administration, reporting any new symptoms, cleaning any soiled surfaces, and lots of cuddles!
- AS NEEDED - Semi-Feral Kitten Socializers (8 weeks or older) - Availability: Need help any day of the week when we have semi-feral kittens. Duties include: feeding, med administration, reporting any new symptoms, cleaning, working with semi-feral kittens to socialize them by playing and interacting with them.
